Mack's Apples

Mack's Apples

About

Our story begins in 1732, when John Mack arrived in Londonderry, New Hampshire, from Londonderry, Ireland with his new wife, Isabella Brown. The area was then known as Nutfield and included land owned by Matthew Thornton, who would later sign the Declaration of Independence. The Mack family settled the land, growing potatoes and other crops, raising cattle, and eventually planting apple trees—laying the foundation for a tradition that continues nearly three centuries later.

Today, Mack’s Apples—also known as Moose Hill Orchards—is proud to be the oldest orchard in the state of New Hampshire. Generations of dedication to farming have helped shape the orchard into a place where families, friends, and visitors from across New England come to enjoy some of the region’s finest fruit and a true taste of New Hampshire agriculture.

At our farm stand, you’ll find an abundance of fresh, locally grown goodness. From our famous homemade cider donuts and sweet strawberries and raspberries to crisp apples, tree-ripe peaches, flavorful pears, pumpkins, squash, and a wide variety of vegetables, there’s something for everyone. We also carry local maple syrup, honey, fresh pies, and many other farm favorites—all served with genuine New Hampshire hospitality.

For those who want to experience the farm firsthand, our Pick Your Own program offers a fun and memorable way to harvest your own fruit. Throughout the season, you can pick strawberries, raspberries, apples, pears, peaches, and pumpkins right from the fields and orchards. It’s an experience that has been recognized twice with the People’s Choice Award in the Best of New Hampshire edition of New Hampshire Magazine.

Every season brings something special to the farm.

Spring arrives with blossoming orchards and the opening of Mack’s Ice Cream, featuring delicious, locally made Richardson’s Ice Cream. Summer brings berries and peaches, while fall transforms the orchard into a classic New England harvest destination filled with beautiful foliage, crisp air, and apples at their peak.

We invite you to visit, stroll through the farm stand, and take in the wonderful sights and smells of fresh fruit straight from the orchard. There’s nothing quite like tasting an apple that’s still warm from the sun.

Come see us—we look forward to welcoming you to Mack’s Apples.
